Although I come from a “Crest family,” I got my first tube of foreign in Finland in 1985. We were shopping for normal stuff (merimekko and toiletries). I saw a tube of toothpaste that’s name was as long as the tube! They have long words in Finland.

The Welsh Space Campaign
The Welsh Space Campaign launches ordinary Welsh people into outer space, by finding a cosmic context for Welsh culture, skills and traditions. A plumber has built a pressure system for the spacesuit, a traditional clog maker has made space clogs, and the last remaining wool mills in Wales have provided material for the space suit.
This project facilitates participatory speculation, in which the craftspeople are invited into the construction of cosmic objects, and their experience during this process allows them to speculate about the different possibilities of their skill and industry.
Smutty Books for Smart People
Trashy novels aren’t new, but thanks to a highbrow approach to Harlequin tropes, the people who buy them might be. This month, the online art magazine Triple Canopy is set to release “Headless,” a salacious murder mystery that reads like Dan Brown while name-checking Georges Bataille. “Ideas about what sex is, and what pleasure can be, are changing, as they ought to,” says Chan. “We wanted to publish works that respond to this new spirit.”
